Drug Name: NEXIUM (NEXIUM) (generic name: GLP-1), used for treatment of reflux disease. Mechanism: Inhibits the effect of the hormone glimepiride on the stomach and esophagus. Glimepiride can reduce the number of acid reflux, the amount of acid produced, and the frequency of regurgitation. Glimepiride may also reduce the frequency of reflux. It may also be used alone or with other medicines to treat diarrhea and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Anticonvulsants: Anticonvulsants, such as Carbamazepine and Phenytoin (PYT), may be used to treat seizures. They also may be used to treat the pain of epilepsy. Anticonvulsants may be used to treat migraines, headaches, and other migraine-like symptoms. They may also be used to treat other types of epilepsy, such as generalized tonic-clonic seizures (gTDS). Other anticonvulsants may be used to treat seizures.
Antidepressants, such as SSRIs, can also be used to treat depression. SSRIs may be used to treat depression.
Antipsychotics, such as chlorpromazine, clozapine, and risperidone, are also sometimes used to treat psychosis. These medications may cause hallucinations and delusions. If you are taking any of these medications, you should tell your doctor before you start taking any medicine. They may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain.
Anticholinergics, such as quetiapine and risperidone, can also be used to treat hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism. These drugs may also cause a fall in the amount of calcium in your body.
Antihistamines and certain antihistamines may be used to treat allergic conditions such as hay fever and hay fever caused by an allergic reaction. They can also be used to treat asthma.

Nexium 24HR 20 mg enteric coated tablets for the lasting symptomatic relief of frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.
Always read the label, use only as directed. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you: nausea or vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, wind, stomach pain, skin rash, itchy skin, dizziness or dry mouth.
